Yemen Rushes Toward Disaster
War in Yemen is driving the Arabian Peninsula's poorest state toward humanitarian disaster, according to UNICEF.
Tens of thousands of families have been displaced, exposing many more to the threat of disease and malnutrition, United Nations children's agency reports.
"Many, many children" had been killed in the fighting, UNICEF's Yemen representative Julien Harneis said. Conditions continue to deteriorate, with hospitals being shelled and schools taken over by combatants.
