Famine Looms in Yemen

Amid internal fighting and a blockade on imports, hunger in Yemen has reached a crisis point, with 1 in 2 of the country’s people struggling to find enough food to eat.

6 million people are in an emergency food situation—as categorized by the international food security scale—a level approaching famine. 

"As the warring parties continue to ignore calls for a ceasefire, the average family in Yemen is left wondering when their next meal will be," Oxfam's Yemen country director Philippe Clerc said.
