Ongoing unrest in Mozambique continues to spawn raids at clinics and hospitals in the country.
In the past month, the country’s opposition party, the Mozambique National Resistance (RENAMO), looted at least 4 health facilities. They’ve absconded with medicines, damaged equipment and left thousands without access to care.
Daniel Bekele, Africa director at Human Rights Watch, calls the raids part of RENAMO’s “repugnant strategy . . . to deny crucial health services to Mozambicans who need them.”
