Aleppo Attacks

Russian and Syrian forces escalated attacks on the besieged city of Aleppo, Syria over the weekend, overwhelming medical facilities and aid agencies and taking a devastating toll on children.
Save the Children reported that about half of the casualties are children. Abu Rajab, a physician, told the aid agency: “The field hospitals where we work are completely full with injured people and casualties, the majority of them women and children. The patients are on the floor, with no ventilators for the ones who need oxygen.”
An emergency session of the UN Security Council, called to discuss the crisis in Aleppo, led to no action; the talks broke down as Russia clashed with western powers, NBC reported.

"Instead of pursuing peace, Russia and Assad make war," said Samantha Power, the US ambassador to the UN.
