Price is the Pick

US President-elect Donald Trump tapped outspoken Affordable Care Act critic Rep. Tom Price, a Georgia Republican, to be Secretary of Health and Human Services.
An orthopedic surgeon and chair of the House Budget Committee, Price, who has repeatedly introduced legislation to repeal and replace the ACA, would be positioned to play a central role in dismantling the program if confirmed by the Senate.
His record includes votes against federal funding for abortion; funding for groups like Planned Parenthood; compelling the FDA to regulate tobacco as a drug; barring job discrimination based on sexual orientation; and for a constitutional amendment to define marriage as between one man and one woman.
