Clean Break

Antibacterial soaps and body washes will be removed from the shelves of stores across the US as of September 2017 to comply with a new FDA order banning the products.
Officials say the products contain chemicals that pose health risks, including hormonal effects and bacterial resistance, and there isn’t strong evidence that antibacterial soaps are better than plain soap and water at preventing illness.

As GHN has reported, “good old-fashioned soap will do” to keep hands clean. But should soap and water not be at hand, the ban exempts hand sanitizers and wipes. The FDA advises the use of hand sanitizers with at least 60% alcohol.
