Stone Cold Marten

A highlight of the Rotterdam Natural History Museum’s new Dead Animal Tales exhibit is the stone marten (weasel) that knocked out the lights at the Large Hadron Collider near Geneva last November. The ambitious weasel gnawed through a substation cable at the LHC and got 18,000 volts for his trouble (see The Guardian story below).
The exhibit documents the oft-unhappy collision of animals and humans—including the hedgehog that got fatally stuck in a McDonalds McFlurry pot.
