Support for Coal

Surrounded by a group of coal miners, President Trump signed an executive order yesterday directing the EPA to ease rules on building coal-fired power plants and ordering the Interior Department to end the moratorium on new coal mines on federal lands.
Trump’s promise to “have clean coal” and “create millions of good American jobs” in the energy industry is the latest in his administration’s efforts to roll back President Obama’s greenhouse gas regulations and weaken other environmental protections enacted in the Obama era.
Critics contend that the order ignores established evidence on climate change and undoes progress towards “a better, more sustainable planet for generations to come."
