Lifesavers, Underappreciated

“What is the most underappreciated medical invention in history?” The Atlantic recently polled a diverse group of doctors, inventors, TV personalities and authors.

Answers ran the gamut, from stethoscopes to AEDs with some unexpected medical game-changers such as Botox and placebos. This mélange of inventions also gave dues to often unsung public health innovations like antisepsis and mosquito-blocking bed nets.
