Malefic Meat

Heavy meat consumption not only may cause health complications; it also takes an unhealthy toll on the planet.

At the Eat Food Forum, the Eat Foundation’s annual gathering in Sweden, Johan Rockström, executive director of the Stockholm Resilience Center, warned that the global cheap meat production system is a primary offender in climate change from greenhouse gases, deforestation and freshwater depletion.

The Eat Foundation is working on guidelines for a healthy and sustainable diet that can support up to 10 billion people by 2050 without furthering climate change.
“If we are to have a chance on climate we need nothing less than a food revolution,” says Rockström.
