Wonder Women

This fall, Stanford Medicine will launch its Women Leaders in Global Health conference to nurture women at all stages of their global health careers.

Michele Barry, director of Stanford’s Center for Innovation in Global Health, created the event after attending a Nairobi health conference panel that featured not a single woman.

“I hope to inspire women to think leadership can be on top of their list and they can still do all the other things that are important,” Barry says. “I managed to raise two wonderful daughters while dragging them all over the world doing global health.”
