Backstory to the Climate Report

Wait, why would the Trump White House release a 2,000 page National Climate Assessment that finds humans almost entirely to blame for climate change late last week?
The decision doesn’t mean the administration has warmed to climate change.
The administration just did the political calculus and decided it would have been too costly to edit the findings by scientists, John Holdren, a Harvard environmental policy professor tells Bloomberg News. Instead, they chose to downplay it.

Hence, the Friday release of the report.
The report finds global temperature is up 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit since 1900 and that sea levels could rise 8 feet by 2100, The Washington Post reports.
Volume 2 of the report is available for public comment until January 31, 2018.
