The WHO launched its first investment case yesterday, detailing an “ambitious, but achievable” 5-year strategic plan to transform global healthcare. The WHO said the plan, fully financed for 5 years, could:
- Help to save up to 30 million lives
- Add up to 100 million years of healthy living to the world’s population
- Add up to 4% of economic growth in low- and middle-income countries by 2023
The pricetag? An investment of $14.1 billion from 2019 to 2023, representing a 14% increase in WHO’s base budget.
