A Creative Response to Skeptics

Public health professionals are going to have to get creative in order to reach young people skeptical about the value of vaccines, writes Brian Goldman in his CBC Radio blog.

A 2018 report by the Vaccine Confidence Project at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine showed young people in the EU were significantly less likely than older people to agree that vaccines are safe.

Goldman sites a Michigan program that targeted college students. The Michigan Department of Community Health posted ads on Spotify and TV that touted the benefits of the flu vaccine. Flu shots on Michigan campuses increased by 60%.
