Rise of the Un-Immunized

A growing number of kids in the US are going without the full roster of recommended vaccinations, such as whooping cough and measles—which has returned in the US amid rising vaccine skepticism in some communities.

New federal data shows a quadrupling of the percentage of under-2s yet to receive any vaccines. CDC data also reveals a gradual rise in immunization exemptions.
While the vast majority of children still receive the full slate of vaccines on schedule, but pockets of parents who opt out are raising concern for the broader public’s health.
