The Power of PHC

Countries’ health systems differ widely, but they are united by the same backbone: primary health care (PHC), which serves as a key gateway to universal health care (UHC).

A new report from the Primary Health Care Performance Initiative examines how 5 nations—Argentina, Ghana, Rwanda, Senegal and Tanzania—advanced PHC by improving how they collect, analyze and deploy data.

In Argentina, the report notes how motivated health workers play a key role in delivering quality PHC. And in Ghana, the researchers explore an innovative strategy to improve PHC with proactive community outreach.
