Amnesty’s ‘Toxic’ Top Brass Offer to Resign

“You should quit! If you stay in this position, your life will be a misery.’”

After menacing statements like this were unveiled in a damning report, top brass at Amnesty International have offered to resign.

Commissioned after 2 Amnesty staffers took their own lives last year, the report details a “toxic” work environment and pervasive bullying at the human rights organization.

Amnesty’s 7-member senior leadership team—many employed there since their youth—jointly penned a letter acknowledging that they fostered a “climate of tension and mistrust” that plagued the organization for decades.

A reform plan is expected from Amnesty’s secretary general by the end of March.
