A Hub for AMR Research

Not much is known about efforts to address antimicrobial resistance—an issue that a new Global Research and Development Hub will tackle.
First conceptualized in 2017, the hub—based in and funded by Germany—consists of a 5-person team initially focused on creating a comprehensive “dashboard” view of global research to “understand, mitigate, or combat [AMR].”

The secretariat will also help establish priorities for AMR efforts with particular attention to the needs of low- and middle-income countries.

Funding is guaranteed for the first 3 years with technical plans and early research expected in June.
