To Be One with AI

After creating PayPal, Tesla and SpaceX, billionaire tech titan Elon Musk is onto his next project: Neuralink, a tech venture promising thread-thin brain implants enabling people to control devices with their minds alone.

Announcing the project last week, Musk said the devices have worked on at least one monkey.

Such a technology could be a game-changer for people with paralyzing disabilities who rely on computers to communicate. Musk wants to take them mainstream.

But Neuralink's lofty ambitions touch a raw nerve between “big swing” innovations of Silicon Valley and the slow-and-steady protocol of medical research.
