ICYMI: Report from “China’s Davos”

China now has its own global health meeting—dubbed “China’s Davos”—in keeping with the country’s expanding global health reach, report Ilona Kickbusch and Gabriel Leung.
The inaugural Global Health Forum of the Boao Forum for Asia in Qingdao, China, last month (with former WHO Director-General, Margaret Chan presiding) centered on health policies, universal health coverage (including traditional medicine in the context of UHC) and innovation.
Kickbusch and Leung highlighted the forum’s China-EU and China-Japan innovation dialogues as especially interesting, noting, “Industry financial support of the forum demonstrated there is clearly less distance between the public and private health sector in China.”
