Planned Parenthood Forces Out Leana Wen

Planned Parenthood ousted president Leana Wen yesterday after just 8 months on the job amid clashes relating to her management style and the direction of the organization.
The move comes as America’s largest reproductive rights group stands to lose $60 million a year in government funding. The organization also faces mounting attacks from the Trump administration, which on Monday barred federally funded family planning providers from giving abortion referrals.
2 family planning organizations in Maine and Illinois immediately rejected federal funding as a result.

Alexis McGill Johnson—a former board chair—will replace Wen as acting president.
