Adults: Wake Up to Climate Change!

Today, students from New Delhi to New York are gathering for the largest global climate protests to date, AFP reports.
Australia kicked things off with a turnout of 300,000, doubling the attendance of climate strikes in March. At the strike’s epicenter in New York, 1.1 million students across 1,800 public schools are skipping class, demanding that adults—in business and government alike—take action to avoid environmental catastrophe.
Will they listen?
Climate change has taken top billing at the UN General Assembly, kicking off Tuesday in New York—but the students are demanding more than just talk. So are scientists.

In a new survey, top medical professionals at the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene agreed that over the next quarter century, climate change will pose the top threat to global health—and governments are failing to prepare, The Guardian reports.
