Dorian’s Devastating Wake

The Bahamas, battered merciless by Hurricane Dorian for 48 hours earlier this week, is now facing catastrophic damage.
“There’s nothing left,” survivor Craig Curry told The Washington Post.
The death toll, as of last night, was 20, but expected to climb as emergency responders and rescue workers make their way through still-flooded land.
Foreign aid from the US, the UK and others has arrived to support the rescue and relief efforts—but the island is facing “generational devastation,” says Prime Minister Hubert Minnis. Some neighborhoods have been completely wiped out.

The monster storm now set its sights on the US southeast coast. By early Thursday morning, the reinvigorated hurricane began its attack on the Carolinas as a Category 3 storm, threatening dangerous storm surges along the coast throughout the day, CBS reports.
