Find out using the first Global Tobacco Industry Interference Index, which ranks countries based on the amount of meddling they allow in health policy.

Despite attempts to clean up its reputation, the tobacco industry remains “as underhanded as ever.” And wooing of senior officials is “rampant.”

Japan, Jordan, Egypt and Bangladesh were most susceptible to their tactics.
But 3 very different countries scored top marks for resisting influence: the UK, Uganda and Iran. “They prove that any country can have good measures to prevent tobacco companies from having undue influence on health.”
