Choking Hazard

President Trump’s brand of the “global gag rule,” which bans funding to foreign NGOs that provide abortion counseling or referrals, is having worse effects than those of previous Republication administrations.

His souped-up rendition endangers far more lives of children and parents.
In countries like Nepal, where health care is heavily funded by US aid, the ban blocks significant dollars for maternal care and cancer screenings.
“Worse than the loss of equipment, projects, and jobs is the information vacuum created around women’s health by constantly (and absurdly) conflating sexual and reproductive health care with abortions,” write Nishita Jha and Bhrikuti Rai.
