Health Officials Threatened for Doing Their Jobs

From Anthony Fauci to local health officials, public health officials are being threatened for doing their jobs: advising the public and enforcing coronavirus containment measures, CNN reports.
The threats are happening in red and blue states alike, and in both rural and urban areas.
Just one example is Nichole Quick. Orange County, California’s chief health officer stepped down this month after her home was the target of protests against a face mask mandate, The Washington Post reports.
20+ health officials have resigned, retired, or been fired in recent weeks amid lockdowns and rising COVID-19 cases, according to the National Association of County and City Health Officials.
The upheaval is coming at a time when public local health departments are already understaffed, losing 25% of their workforce in the past decade.
