Climate Concern on Par with COVID

COVID-19 may be dominating the headlines, but people are just as worried about climate change, according to a new Pew Research Center poll spanning 14 countries, Vox reports.  
A median of 69% said climate change and infectious diseases are equally concerning; 76% viewed climate change as a major threat, compared to just 55% in 2013.
There is clear basis for their rising concern, Al Jazeera reports: Climate change is a chief contributor to the doubling of natural disasters—including extreme weather events like flooding and drought—in the past 20 years, a recent UN report warns
