Open Source Opioid Documents

A new website offers a rare and comprehensive look into the machinations of companies seeking to spur sales of painkillers.

The Opioid Industry Documents Archive—a partnership between the University of California, San Francisco and Johns Hopkins University—provides a one-stop shop for key documents from lawsuits that have aimed to hold pharmaceutical companies accountable for an astonishing opioid crisis that killed more than 400,000 people in the US from 1999–2018.

The archive will store emails, sales reports, meeting minutes, expert witness reports, and more to shine a light on the narrative of the nation’s worst drug epidemic.

The Long Game: Help prevent a similar crisis from happening again.
