The WHO announced yesterday the 3 finalists vying to become its 8th director-general when Dr. Margaret Chan steps down June 30. They are:

It’s Director-General selection season at WHO. The organization’s Executive Board made the first cut today, trimming the 6 candidates down to 5. The bad news fell to Miklós Szócska, 56, the former health minister from Hungary.
